A former dancer, Olivia has always been passionate and curious about movement. Her love for the method stems from the physicality of the work as strength training combined with the precise technique of dance. She was comprehensively trained under Melissa Kakavas + Jen Gianni in North Carolina through Balanced Body.
Olivia completed her Art + Design degree from NC State University. Following graduation, she settled in Raleigh, NC creating a very non-linear career path working for other small business owners and creatives. Eventually she landed in Austin where she currently owns and operates Moogie Pilates. When she's not teaching or wearing all the business hats, she's relaxing with the studio pups: Peaches + Cricket.
Olivia always envisioned a multi-faceted career that would include a blend of teaching movement and creative work. She fell in love with Pilates and it surprised her how much it satisfied her creative needs as well. When she says “Teaching Pilates is the most artistic thing I’ve ever done” she really means “I’ve never known how to love people so well.” For her, Pilates is the space where science, art and dance all come together. It’s the space where she feels most human and the most capable of connecting with others. Her passion for making people feel seen and heard provides a unique experience for every client she works with. She has experience working with clients of all ages and skill levels. Her teaching experience has allowed her to develop thorough knowledge on soft tissue release work, disc injuries, muscular imbalances, hip/knee/ankle injuries, pre/post-natal Pilates, Parkinson’s disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis.
Olivia is delighted with the continuous opportunity to learn within the world of movement. Every client she sees is an opportunity to learn and connect with her own body while helping individuals connect with their body and achieve well-being.
